Admission Policy

At Sacred Heart College, Agenebode, we are committed to admitting students who demonstrate a strong academic background, positive character, and a willingness to learn and grow within our vibrant community. Our admission policy is designed to ensure a fair, transparent, and inclusive process, providing equal opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds to join our school.

Admission into Sacred Heart College is through a competitive entrance examination, prospective students must have completed their primary school education.

Secondly, such a student must have passed the interview conducted by the college.

Students who come from places far away Agenebode are Admitted in the boarding house and those whose parents are resident in Agenebode and wish their children to be boarders are also welcome on payment of the stipulated fee for boarding.

We want to ensure that you have everything you need to make an informed decision and that your admissions experience is a success.

Admission Requirements

Admission will be granted to prospective students who:

  1. Have successfully completed primary school
  2. Have met Entrance Examination requirements
  3. Participated successfully in Written and Personal Interviews conducted by SHCA
  4. Have submitted records of achievements in primary school, officially stamped by their Headmaster/Headmistress
  5. Have filled and submitted our application form either through online application or physical submission
  6. Are ready to abide by the SHC's rules and regulations affirmed through the signing of the Acceptance of Admission form by the parents/guardian of the incoming student.

School Prospectus for Boarding students.

In order to ensure the comfort and the convenience of every student of Sacred Heart College, each boarding student is required to resume with the following items:

ITEMS

  1. One pair of simple black or brown sandals (to be used with house wears).
  2. A pair of rubber slippers, a pair of white canvas, one bath towel and one metal bucket.
  3. One foam mattress (6 springs), one pillow, one blanket and a mosquito net.
  4. One umbrella or raincoat
  5. A set of cutlery (Note: the cutlery should be stainless steel without any rubber attached), a stainless cup with handle and cover and three stainless plates (two deep and one flat).
  6. One cupboard (40 inch high; 20 inch wide; 12 inch deep) and one strong padlock. (Cupboards are available in school at N25, 000)
  7. One torch light or rechargeable lamp, one school bag and one wrist watch
  8. Enough personal under wears, two sport shirts and shorts (Jerseys, not jeans).
  9. Tooth brushes and tooth paste, tablets of bathing soap, enough bar soap/detergent, body cream (not medicated), hair cream and deodorant (roll on).
  10. Two blue plain or check bed sheets and pillow cases. (Bed sheets are available in the school for the sum of N4, 000 each).
  11. Two thick back long notebooks.

Note

  • Students should lodge their pocket money with the House-Maters / House-Mistresses on arrival.
  • Parents should ensure that they write their children’s/wards’ names on their belongings for easy identification and safe-keeping.
  • Students are not allowed under any condition to buy uniforms outside the school.
  • Provisions are allowed, but tins and bottles are not allowed, and as such, refilled beverages and rubber containers should be used for beverages and groundnuts.

Every last Sunday of the month is Visiting Day

Prohibited Items

  • Liquid milk, coffee, tea bags and tea leaves, sweets and chewing gum.
  • Liquid drinks of any kind( coke, fanta, nutri-milk e.t.c)
  • Raw food of any description.
  • Canned foods such as sardine, geisha, baked beans, corn beef, custard etc.
  • Perfumes (except roll on)
  • Radios/cameras, video games, laptops and cell phones.
  • Candles and Kerosene lamp.
